Avocado shipments to China are down, but some sizes are seeing better prices.

In week 32, the Chinese market received 62 containers of avocados from Peru, representing a decrease of nearly 50% compared to the previous week. Even so, the volume remains higher than that recorded during the same period last year.

In terms of prices, sizes 18 to 24 showed a weekly increase of 7%, although it is still 32% below the figure reached in 2024. Despite this, for the last three to four weeks the price has remained above the levels observed in 2023 and 2022.

Regarding market dynamics, André Vargas highlighted that exporters who focused on quality, good presentation, and an appropriate shipping strategy have managed to sustain themselves, while the rest have competed at a loss or close to it.
