Argentina doubled its Hass avocado imports

In 2025, Argentina imported over 2,600 containers, more than double the amount in 2024, with Chile and Peru as the main suppliers.

Argentine imports of Hass avocados registered strong growth in 2025, more than doubling the volumes compared to 2024 and marking a turning point in the supply dynamics.

According to data from the Avobook Data team, Argentina went from importing 1,125 containers in 2023 to 1,271 in 2024. The most significant jump occurred in 2025, when the total reached 2,605 containers, demonstrating an accelerated expansion in just twelve months.

The trend is also reflected in the monthly evolution, where 2025 far exceeds the records of the previous two years in most months, with particularly marked increases towards the last quarter.

Chile consolidates its leadership and dependence grows

Chile remains the main supplier to the Argentine market and strengthened its position during the period analyzed. Its market share increased from 48% in 2023 to 64% in 2024 and 65% in 2025.

In absolute volume, shipments from Chile grew from 540 containers in 2023 to 817 in 2024, reaching 1,691 containers in 2025. This evolution reflects a growing dependence of Argentina on this origin.

Peru gains ground; Brazil loses relative weight

Peru showed a significant recovery in 2025. After reducing its share to 13% in 2024, the country regained ground in the Argentine market, reaching 18% in 2025. In volume, it went from 234 containers in 2023 to 171 in 2024, before climbing to 478 containers in 2025, positioning itself as the second most important supplier.

Brazil, meanwhile, increased its volume compared to 2024, but reduced its share of total imports, going from 28% in 2023 to 19% in 2024 and 15% in 2025. In absolute terms, it registered 313 containers in 2023, 239 in 2024 and 395 in 2025.

Colombia ceased to be a relevant supplier during the period analyzed, while Mexico maintained a marginal and unstable presence within the Argentine market.
