Avocado industry
The Morocco Avocado Conference will debut in September 2026
The new meeting will take place on September 30 in Morocco and will seek to address the main technical and commercial challenges of the sector.
The avocado industry in Morocco will have a new international meeting point in 2026 with the first edition of the Morocco Avocado Conference (MAC), an event promoted by Green Smile and focused exclusively on this productive sector.
When will the Morocco Avocado Conference 2026 take place?
The conference will be held on September 30, 2026, Green Smile announced in the event's launch press release.
Where will the Morocco Avocado Conference 2026 be held?
The meeting will take place in Tangier, Morocco, a city that the organizers highlight for its strategic connection with European and international markets.
Why was this event created?
The launch of the event comes at a particularly relevant time for the Moroccan industry. According to the official statement, after exceeding 141,000 tons exported in the previous season, the 2025/2026 campaign closed with a drop to around 58,000 tons, in a scenario affected by extreme weather conditions and logistical problems. For the organizers, this situation raises questions about the resilience, performance, and long-term sustainability of the sector.
What is the objective of the event and what will the conference be about?
Within this framework, the conference will seek to bring together various stakeholders in the avocado value chain in Morocco. The event will convene producers, exporters, technical experts, input suppliers, agritech companies, institutions, and decision-makers, with the aim of sharing experiences and discussing solutions to the industry's main challenges.
The central theme of this first edition will be “Water, Yield, Market,” a slogan that encapsulates some of the sector's current concerns. According to Green Smile, the program will include presentations, expert panels, and discussion forums focused on addressing both technical and strategic aspects of the industry. Topics mentioned in the press release include plant quality and certification, irrigation and fertigation practices, climate risks, orchard management, and crop protection.
Who is organizing the event?
The conference will be organized by Green Smile, a company that, according to the same document, has over 17 years of experience in organizing agricultural events in Morocco, including gatherings related to the tomato and berry industries. With this new conference, the firm aims to expand its work to strengthen and connect the Moroccan avocado sector.
As part of its associated activities, Green Smile also announced the Avocado Advanced Fertigation Training, a technical training course scheduled for October 1st and 2nd, 2026 in Tangier. This course will focus on improving orchard performance, with particular attention to water management, plant nutrition, and precision fertigation.
