From avocados to new opportunities: Hass Brazil expands its operations with new crops

The growth of Brazilian fruit farming in the international market has prompted companies to invest not only in production, but also in logistics, post-harvest and product diversification.

In this context, Hass Brasil begins a new chapter in its trajectory by expanding the operation of its Packing House to other cultures.

Starting in April 2026, the company will begin processing Tahitian limes , kicking off a diversification strategy that also includes, in the future, the processing of ginger and sweet potato , in addition to avocados.

A project designed to strengthen the sector

The Hass Brasil Packing House, which began operations in 2016 in Bauru (SP), represents a significant milestone in the company's consolidation within the Brazilian avocado production chain. With a modern infrastructure designed to meet high standards of quality and traceability, the facility is ready to adapt to market evolution and the demands of the global fruit industry.

According to Dora Sampaio, commercial director of Hass Brasil, the decision to expand the scope of the operation was already part of the company's strategic plan.

“From the very beginning of the Packing House project, we understood the importance of having a versatile structure capable of meeting different market demands. Avocados will continue to be our main focus, but we know that crop diversification is essential to strengthen operations throughout the year and expand opportunities for our partner producers,” he explains.

In this context, the Tahiti lime will be the first new crop incorporated into the operation.

The Tahiti lime opens a new line of work

With processing scheduled to begin in April 2026, the Tahiti lime represents an important opportunity to expand the use of Hass Brazil's Packing House infrastructure and serve producers in the region who already work with this crop.

The initiative will also optimize logistics, expand the supply of processed fruits under international standards, and strengthen the company's position as a strategic partner for producers.

Clara Sampaio, the company's communications director, emphasizes that the diversification was planned cautiously and with a long-term vision.

“We are attentive to the opportunities offered by the market and always seek to combine growth with operational efficiency. The Tahiti lime emerges as a natural extension of our processing and logistics capacity,” he states.

Furthermore, the Packing House's technological structure allows processes to be adapted to different types of fruit, while maintaining the quality standards required by national and international markets.

Future planning: new crops on the horizon

Hass Brasil's strategic vision extends beyond the addition of lemons. The company's plan envisions international expansion and significant competitive potential in Brazil in the coming years.

This diversification will also improve the efficiency of the operation throughout the year, reducing the seasonality of some crops and generating new opportunities for associated producers.

“The idea is to transform the packing facility into a service platform for different production chains, always maintaining our commitment to quality, traceability and a transparent relationship with producers and buyers,” Dora adds.

Modern infrastructure for multiple crops

Strategically located in the Bauru Industrial District, Hass Brasil's Packing House boasts an infrastructure of approximately 2,400 m² , including a truck scale, multiple loading and unloading docks, sorting equipment with scanning technology and artificial intelligence, as well as a complete cold chain.

The system includes a California-style cooling tunnel and cold storage chambers with automated control and remote monitoring, guaranteeing the preservation of post-harvest quality.

Another relevant logistical aspect is the proximity to the Bauru Dry Port , which facilitates customs processes and speeds up shipments of fruit destined for export.

Alliances that strengthen the production chain

Following the same model used in avocado production, the expansion into new crops will also be based on partnerships with agricultural producers. The goal is to offer a reliable structure for the processing, grading, and marketing of fruit, adding value to Brazilian products.

Hass Brasil already maintains commercial relationships with importers from Europe and Mercosur , markets that increasingly value fruits with traceable origin and produced under sustainable standards.

In this sense, the new operating model reinforces the company's role as a bridge between Brazilian producers and international buyers.

A vision for the future of Brazilian fruit growing

The expansion of Hass Brasil's operations reflects an increasingly prevalent trend in modern fruit farming: the integration of production, post-harvest technology, logistics, and marketing.

By combining experience in avocado cultivation, technological infrastructure and a gradual diversification strategy, the company seeks to contribute to strengthening Brazil's presence in the global fresh fruit market, as well as promoting Brazilian avocados in national and international markets.
