Shipments from Chile are falling, but the total volume in China is growing due to the return of exports from Peru.
The Chinese market registered a total of 73 containers of avocados from Peru and Chile in week 47. This figure represents a 38% increase compared to the previous week and an 83% year-on-year increase. Chile was the main source, accounting for 62% of the total, while Peru contributed the remaining 38%.
In the case of Chile, shipments showed a 15% drop compared to the previous week, while no shipments from Peru had been recorded for the same period in previous weeks. The overall increase, therefore, is due to the combination of both origins and the reactivation of Peruvian shipments.
Regarding prices, no significant variations were observed compared to the previous week. Values remained at levels very similar to those recorded in 2024 during weeks 46 and 47, demonstrating comparable stability between the two cycles. Historical records indicate that in 2024 prices began a downward trend towards the end of the year, which serves as a reference point for evaluating market performance in the coming weeks.
