Peru leads with 44% in 1,105 avocado shipments to Europe
Week 15 adds 1,105 shipments to Europe, with slight weekly variation and year-on-year growth, in a mixed price scenario.
In week 15, the European avocado market recorded a total of 1,105 shipments arriving on the continent, a figure very similar to the previous week, with a slight decrease of 3%. Compared to the same period last year, the volume is 8% higher.

The breakdown by origin shows Peru's increased prominence, continuing to expand its presence and reaching 44% of the total volume. Spain follows with 23%, and Israel with 8%, the latter at a later stage of its season. Colombia accounts for 7% of shipments, while Brazil and South Africa each register 6%. Kenya has a 3% share, and Mexico and Chile contribute 1% each.
In terms of weekly variation, only Peru and Brazil show increases in their volumes, while the rest of the origins show declines. The most pronounced drops correspond to Morocco and Chile, in a context of the end of the season and the sale of the last available volumes.
In Rotterdam, price trends show a slight increase in medium and large sizes, with overall rises of around 2%. In contrast, small sizes register the largest declines, notably size 32 with a 14% decrease and size 26 with an 11% drop.
Meanwhile, in Spain, prices are also falling, although only slightly compared to the levels observed in previous weeks.
