Avocado shipments from Jalisco maintained a strong concentration in the United States during 2026. According to data from Avobook, the US market received 4,062 of the 6,298 shipments registered in the analyzed period, a figure equivalent to 64.5% of the total.

The United States' share has gradually increased over the past three years. In 2024, the country received 4,494 of the 7,312 shipments observed, 61.5% of the total, while in 2025 it reached 5,698 out of 8,964, representing 63.6%.

Despite the presence of other destinations within Jalisco's export matrix, the United States is increasing its prominence to reach 64.5% so far in 2026.

Canada and Japan are the main alternative destinations

Outside the United States, Jalisco's exports are primarily distributed between Japan and Canada. As of 2026, Japan accounted for 862 shipments, representing 13.7% of the total, while Canada accounted for 824 shipments, representing 13.1%.

Further behind are other destinations combined, reaching 394 shipments and representing 6.3%. Finally, Europe accounts for 156 shipments, equivalent to 2.5% of the total.

A comparison with previous years shows some changes within this distribution. Canada accounted for 17.0% of Jalisco's shipments in 2024 and 15.0% in 2025, before decreasing to 13.1% in the cumulative total for 2026. Japan, on the other hand, went from 13.1% in 2024 to 14.5% in 2025 and currently represents 13.7%.

Thus, the diversification of shipments from Jalisco continues to concentrate mainly in Canada and Japan, although both markets maintain a considerable distance from the United States.

Japan positions itself as the second largest market

One of the main changes shown by the 2026 data is in the second largest destination market. Japan accounts for 862 shipments, surpassing Canada by 38 to 824, reversing the order observed during the previous two years.

In 2024, Japan received 955 shipments from Jalisco, equivalent to 13.1% of the total. During 2025, the volume increased to 1,297 shipments, reaching a 14.5% share. In the cumulative period of 2026, 862 shipments were recorded, representing 13.7%.

Canada, on the other hand, has progressively reduced its share, falling from 15.0% in 2025 to 13.1% in the 2026 projection. The difference between the two destinations is currently narrow, but Japan has positioned itself for the first time in the analyzed period as the second largest single market for avocado shipments from Jalisco.

The data shows that the United States continues to expand its share as the top destination, while Japan and Canada form a second tier with similar volumes. The evolution of these markets over the coming months will reveal whether the shift in positions between Japan and Canada holds true by year's end.
