Public statement from Chilean Avocados
Paltas de Chile reports that recent rains, strong winds and frosts have caused early fruit drop in various production areas.

Avocados of Chile reports that recent rains, strong winds, and frosts have caused premature fruit drop in various growing regions. Some of these avocados, considered losses due to the storm, have been sold by some individuals.
Therefore, Paltas de Chile urges consumers to be informed about the origin and condition of the fruit available on the market and to be wary of offers with extremely low prices, as this could correspond to fruit that has fallen prematurely and will not ripen under optimal conditions and, therefore, will not have the flavor, texture and quality that characterize the Chilean Hass avocado.
Paltas de Chile continues to monitor the impact of the frontal system. While there are indications of fruit loss, the preliminary estimate is that these events should not significantly affect production levels compared to recent seasons or the availability of avocados in the domestic market .
