With a new Moroccan avocado season underway, productivity, resource management, and business decisions are once again at the forefront of discussions. These will be the central themes of the second Moroccan Avocado Summit , to be held on October 15, 2026, in Larache, Morocco.

Under the theme “Yields, Trends, and Sustainability,” the event will bring together producers, exporters, researchers, institutional representatives, technology companies, and international specialists. According to the organizers' statement, the agenda will focus on connecting orchard performance with market changes and the adoption of sustainable production models.

A season that demands attention to the market

The summit will coincide with a season expected to see increased competition among European suppliers. Morocco could contribute significant volumes of Hass avocados to the European market during the Northern Hemisphere winter of 2026–2027.

The analysis emphasizes the arrival schedule and sales regularity as key factors in managing supply alignment. This is a sales forecast, the implementation of which will depend on the actual volumes and pace of shipments from each origin.

In this context, the announced program for the summit will include market trends, certification, export logistics, and post-harvest handling. These aspects link production with the ability to deliver fruit in suitable condition to its destinations.

Productivity and water as priorities

In the production sector, the meeting will address advances in agronomy, precision agriculture, varietal performance, irrigation management, and climate adaptation. The organizers have identified improving orchard yields and promoting the adoption of agricultural innovation as one of their priorities.

Responsible water use will have a specific place within discussions on sustainability, along with soil conservation, biodiversity, renewable energies and good agricultural practices.

The event aims to examine how to reconcile improved performance with the responsible management of resources that sustain the activity in the long term. Therefore, its agenda covers both the challenges of the marketing campaign and the conditions necessary to maintain production.

A meeting for the entire chain

According to the organizers, the first edition brought together more than 240 participants from various links in the supply chain. This year, the summit will once again convene logistics operators, input suppliers, and investors, with the aim of facilitating knowledge exchange and business relationships.

Participation will be by invitation only. Interested professionals can register their interest and request access through the official Moroccan Avocado Summit website.
