Europe and the United States Increase Imports: 679 Containers to Europe and 1,416 to the U.S.

The United States imported approximately 1,416 containers of avocados in week 49, a 4% increase over the previous week. Mexico, meanwhile, maintained its 97% market share. Shipments from Colombia fell by 55%, while those from Chile and the Dominican Republic doubled.

In Europe, week 50 ended with 679 containers, 9% more than the previous week and 27% more than the same week in 2023. Chile, Colombia, Israel, and Morocco controlled 90% of the market. Sizes #22 and #24 faced pressure in Rotterdam due to oversupply.

China received 32 containers, 63% of which came from Chile. Despite the moderate volumes at this time of year, it is expected that the usual 40 containers will be received by the end of the year.

Regarding Chile, its exports in week 49 reached 184 containers, 15% less than the previous week. Europe received 51%, Latin America 26%, Asia 21%, and the United States 2%.

On the other hand, Colombia reached its highest export volume of the year with 214 containers, 9% more than the previous week, with 80% destined for Europe and 20% for the United States.
