Avobook Report Preview W41-2024

Mexico dominates in the United States, and Chile takes first place in Europe and China.

The Avobook Report for week 41 reveals a radical shift in the European avocado market share: Chile has moved into first place, displacing Peru, which has fallen to third, while Colombia has secured second place thanks to increased harvests and shipments. It is a market with very stable prices, and one that many producers are investing in.

In the United States, Mexico has taken over completely, capturing 93% of the market this week, while other origins (California, Chile, Peru, and Colombia) each hold less than 1%. Just like in Europe, prices are barely moving.

In Asia, China received the same 22 containers as last week, but with prices falling for almost all sizes. Larger sizes were the most affected, with prices down 10% compared to the same week in 2023.
