Avobook Report Preview W39-2024

Prices in China vary little between sizes, and Chile increases its market share in Europe.

The Avobook Week 39 Report shows that in the United States, avocado volume decreased by 10% compared to the previous week and by 24% compared to last year, with Mexico dominating the market with an 87% share. California accounts for 5% and Chile for 2.5%, with the latter registering a 28% increase. In Europe, shipments fell by 1.5%, although Chile has increased its share to 14%, generating larger volumes. An increase in shipments from Colombia is expected in October, while prices continue to rise, with stability projected for at least five weeks. In China, Chile leads with 55% of shipments, displacing Peruvian fruit for the first time, while prices remain stable across sizes, hovering around $3.80 to $3.90 per kilogram.See Avobook Premium Week 38
