US avocado revenues increase while Peru continues to dominate the European market

In week 29, international avocado trade showed significant movements in volume, prices and share by origin.

In the United States, over 1,600 containers and trucks entered the country, a 3% increase over the previous week. Mexico maintained its leading position with 55% of the market, while California and Colombia stood out with increases of 25% and 31%, respectively. Peru, meanwhile, reduced its shipments by 30%.

In Europe, the volume reached 978 containers, 17% higher than the same period in 2023. Peru reinforced its dominance with an 81% share, while other origins such as South Africa and Colombia showed moderate adjustments.

In China, 57 containers arrived from Peru, with improved prices for medium sizes, although still below 2024 levels. The intermittent trend in shipments continues to set the pace of the market.

Finally, from the point of origin, Peru exported 1,415 containers in week 28, 3% less than the previous week, but 35% more than last year. Europe continues to absorb more than 50% of the total shipped, confirming its role as the main destination.
