European market

Europe's avocado volume falls by 3%, but it is still ahead of 2025.

Europe receives 1,127 shipments in week 19. Peru leads with 59%, while Brazil stands out with higher volume and Rotterdam adjusts prices.

Week 19 in the European market closed with a total of 1,127 avocado shipments from various origins, primarily Peru. This represents a 3% decrease compared to the previous week, a slight drop that maintains the stability observed in recent weeks, although within a high average of weekly volumes.

Furthermore, the market continues to outperform last year's performance, with a volume 10% higher than that recorded in the same week of 2025, consolidating a season of greater intensity in arrivals.

Peru remains the main supplier to the European market, accounting for 59% of the total received during the week. South Africa follows at a considerable distance with 15%, and then Brazil with 12%, an unusually high share that represents a significant volume for this origin, with approximately 140 shipments arriving on the continent.

Colombia follows with 5%, Kenya and Tanzania with 4% each, while Spain still maintains a presence with a 3% weekly share. Mexico completes the supply with the remaining 1%.

In terms of prices, Rotterdam continues to show a downward trend. Not only have small sizes been declining for five consecutive weeks, but large sizes are also registering a sharp drop, especially for fruit from Peru and Colombia.

The decline has led to benchmark prices for 18-gauge shotguns in Europe beginning to approach the values of 48-gauge shotguns in the United States, a situation that had not been seen throughout the year.

This behavior reflects not only the low prices currently seen in the US market, but also the pressure that is beginning to be felt in Europe, where the price drop extends to both small and large sizes.
