Record-breaking season: Mexico surpasses 1 million tons

Mexico

Last week we harvested 36,457 tons, of which 30,226 were exported to the United States. That represents an 83% allocation to the US market.

So far this season, the total harvest shipped to the US has reached 1,228,336 tons. By the end of the season, we will be facing record numbers.

We estimate a remaining crop of around 300,000 tons. Part of that volume will be harvested next season.

We project a harvest of approximately 33,000 tons this week. The available acreage is 30,000 hectares, 4.6% less than last week.

Exports remain at significant volumes. With California entering the market, Mexico will adjust its volume, and between the two sources, the market will be amply supplied.

We expect a lot of promotion this May 5th, which will help keep inventories reasonably healthy.

Conditions for the new harvest are normal. The start is scheduled for the second half of June.

I wish you all a wonderful week.
