Mexico is ready to lead the US market

Mexico

Last week, the harvest for the U.S. program reached 19,545 tons, of which 18,229 tons were exported, representing a 93% utilization rate. Cumulative exports this year are already 6% higher than last season at the same time.

This week, a harvest of around 20,000 tons is expected on an area authorized for the United States program of 26,406 hectares, 4% less than the previous week, but 12% more than the same week last year.

In the market, conditions are somewhat mixed. There is high demand for .48 calibers and larger, and low demand for .60 calibers and smaller, which has led to a very high price difference between .48 and .60 calibers, approximately $20.00 USD per box.

The four origins—Mexico, California, Peru, and Colombia—remain available on the market. Similar conditions are expected for the next two to three weeks. The new Mexican harvest currently shows quite acceptable levels of ripeness and dry matter, and its cosmetic quality is also very good.

We still have a few more weeks before Mexico begins to completely dominate the market, and we expect the transition to be stable.

I wish you all a wonderful week.
