Mexico dominates the market with still very competitive prices
Mexico
Last week, 22,483 tons were harvested for the United States program, of which 20,384 were exported, representing a utilization rate of 91%.
A similar harvest of around 23,000 tons is expected this week.
We have an offer of 38,600 hectares to harvest, 2% less than the previous week.
Mexico continues to gain market share every week. The decline in volume, especially from Peru, has been immediately absorbed by Mexico.
The market distribution was as follows:
- Mexico: 83%
- California: 15%
- Peru: 2%
In a few weeks, Mexico will be supplying virtually the entire market.
Exports to other destinations continue to be dominated by Canada.
Prices remain very competitive in Mexico and it seems they will continue to do so in the coming months. Hopefully, with the start of the promotions linked to college football, we'll see increased activity and spending.
I wish you an excellent week.
