Mexico exported 1,303 shipments in week 49. The volume that Mexico has been sending to the market remains relatively stable; holidays in both Mexico and the United States have not affected the flow of fruit.

Export volumes remain above ideal levels. Overall, inventories have been increasing in recent days, and prices have fallen for virtually all sizes. Larger fruit, sizes 32s and 36s, have seen the most significant price drops, but 48s sizes have also continued to decline. Although sizes 60s and smaller have experienced the strongest demand, they haven't been able to achieve the best prices.

For several weeks now, it has been very difficult to compete against the prices offered at the border. Often, the fruit has been in storage for several days, and there are also many fruits in good condition that are difficult to explain being offered at discounted prices. The amount of fruit being sent to the open market is very large.

Mexico will likely continue supplying the market with volumes exceeding 1,200 shipments per week, as the anticipated improvement in market conditions predicted for December has not materialized. Any potential rebound in January is also uncertain given the large number of producers choosing to wait until the beginning of the year to start harvesting.

It's true that this season is far from good in terms of prices, but export volumes continue to reach record numbers for Mexico. Let's hope that at least the producers who want to sell their fruit will be able to do so.

Exports to other markets also remain stable; Canada has increased the volume it receives each week and fortunately has also received more sizes, which is certainly something that exporters appreciate.
