Harvest Update
The light harvest has continued and has not stopped this year. Current harvesting activity is approximately 100-200 bins per day, which keeps California fruit available, but not at levels that significantly impact the overall market.
Market trend
Mexico has remained the primary driver of supply and has been pushing prices down for the past three months. Until Mexican weekly volume declines significantly, the upside potential for prices appears limited.
Climate and harvest outlook 2026
Last week, many agricultural areas in California received between 4 and 10 inches of rain, depending on the region. This generally benefits the upcoming harvest.
– It replenishes soil moisture and reduces dependence on irrigation during flowering and early fruit set.
– It supports tree health by reducing water stress and aiding foliage recovery.
– Helps eliminate salts from the root zone (a significant benefit for the health of avocado roots in many districts).
Next steps
Mexico will boost promotional volume for the NFL playoff season and, ultimately, the Super Bowl (February 8, 2026), which is usually the biggest annual demand boost for Mexican avocados.
