Mexico: Market Comments

Week 6 (calendar year) ended with a harvest of 26,281 tons and an export to the United States of 21,421 tons. Much of the remainder will continue the trend of being exported mostly to the Canadian market and also a good part in stock for Europe.

Shipments for the Super Bowl were completed, reaching almost 130,000 tons in the 5 weeks prior to the football final game, a number very close to last season.

The harvest is about 65% complete as estimated for this season, leaving a remaining amount of around 425,000 tons.

The market continues to demand fruit, inventories are low, which is good news regarding consumption for the Super Bowl, and we expect that this week approximately 33,000 tons will be harvested to fill the supply chain to the US market.

The size distribution remains stable, with size 48 being the most dominant at 35%. The hectares available for this week are practically the same as last week: Michoacán with 35,748 hectares and Jalisco with 9,045 hectares.

I wish you an excellent week
