Market dynamics and their impact in Mexico

Mexico

Last week, Mexico harvested 27,084 tons of avocados, of which 18,940 tons were exported to the United States market, representing a 70% utilization rate. This indicates that a significant amount of fruit remains in cold storage and will be shipped this week.

The season's total is 1,014,338 tons, of which 863,866 tons have been exported. The remaining harvest is approximately 170,000 tons.

This week's harvest is expected to reach 20,000 tons. However, the number of hectares available for the export program to the United States has decreased by 1.7% compared to last week.

Mexico is losing market share, with a 71% share last week, while California remains around 25%, and the rest is split between Peru and Colombia. We are currently at the lower end of Mexico's supply, so it is likely that Mexico's share will decrease further in the coming weeks.

It is important to closely monitor market dynamics and adjust strategies to maintain competitiveness.

I wish you an excellent week
