The Brazilian Avocado Association projects growth, sectoral unity, and professionalization of the supply chain

In November 2025, the Brazilian Avocado Association (AAB) convened its directors and members for a Strategic Planning Meeting. Founded in 2006 with the mission of uniting producers, nurseries, technicians, and companies to promote the sustainable development of the supply chain, the AAB has expanded its institutional activities and consolidated an increasingly prominent identity on the national stage.

The meeting reinforced the Association's commitment to professionalizing the supply chain, increasing domestic consumption, providing technical training for producers, and organizing data intelligence in the sector—key issues for consolidating avocados as a strategic fruit for Brazil.

A meeting to define the future of the supply chain

During the planning phase, the actions carried out throughout 2025 were reviewed, including participation in national and international events, progress in dialogue with key market players, the creation of technical content, and the strengthening of participation in collective initiatives.

Based on this assessment, it was possible to identify needs, reinforce priorities, and align expectations for the Association's next steps.

In summary, three main strategic pillars were defined for 2026, which represent the central axes of the AAB's actions during the next year.

Pillar 1 – Data Collection: Intelligence for Decision Making

One of the main challenges identified by the AAB is the lack of structured information on avocado production in Brazil. While the sector is expanding rapidly, there is still a lack of clarity in several areas. In 2026, the focus will shift to creating the first national database on avocado cultivation, through a collaborative effort between consultants, producers, universities, and institutional partners. The goal is to provide reliable information so that members can make better decisions and the sector can plan its growth more effectively. 

Pillar 2 – Increased Consumption: Bringing Avocado Closer to the Brazilian Consumer

Despite being one of the world's largest producers, Brazil still has a per capita consumption rate below its potential. Therefore, in 2026, AAB will focus its efforts on campaigns that connect avocados with consumers, especially through: • educational programs for children; • collaborations with nutritionists, dietitians, and cardiologists, broadening understanding of the fruit's nutritional benefits; • participation in health and nutrition events, providing high-quality technical information; • production of digital content and seasonal campaigns that reinforce the value of avocados in everyday life. This strategy aims to create a more direct connection with Brazilian consumers, diversifying the uses of the fruit and dispelling the cultural myths that still limit its consumption.

 Pillar 3 – Capacity Building in the Supply Chain

Knowledge as the Foundation for Growth. The sustainable growth of avocado cultivation depends on technical expertise, especially considering the country's diverse agricultural production. To this end, the AAB will define a structured agenda in 2026 that includes: • Field Days, held in different regions; • Technical bulletins and AbaCast (the AAB podcast), developed with the Association's Technical Committee and exclusively for members; • Continuation of the Avocado Academy project, in collaboration with the Terra Ideal Cooperative, which was a great success in 2025.

What does the AAB foresee for 2026?

2026 will be a year of structuring, growth, and institutional consolidation for the Brazilian Avocado Association (AAB). With well-defined pillars, strategic alliances, integrated actions, and a focus on the producer, the AAB is embarking on a new cycle with clear objectives. Brazil has a unique opportunity to consolidate its position as a global leader in avocado production. And, with a clear and collaborative strategy, the Brazilian Avocado Association is taking firm steps to lead this movement and build an even more promising future for the industry.
