Mexican avocados: Record shipments in January

Mexico

January is off to a strong start: record shipments and a new milestone in Mexican avocado exports. Last week, 45,362 tons were harvested, of which 37,807 tons were shipped, representing an 83% utilization rate. This indicates that the remaining volume will likely be shipped on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

The available acreage this week is 48,904 hectares, 6% higher than last week. The harvest volume is expected to reach 40,000 tons.

Mexico continues to dominate the market, with 98% of the supply. The good news is that, despite the political and social problems in the United States, avocado consumption continues to grow.

I hope the market remains strong in the coming months. I wish you a great week.
