Avobook Premium Report 2024 w26

The blockade on Mexican avocados is reshaping the US and European markets, while maintaining good prices.

The Avobook W 26 Report reveals the consequences of the unexpected situation for Mexican avocados, whose shipments were temporarily blocked by the United States. This has led to a reconfiguration of the fruit's market landscape: California rose to a 45% market share, while Peru and Colombia rushed to fill part of the gap with increased shipments. The most striking development is the increase in Peruvian avocados, which jumped from 7.5 million pounds to 9 million. This origin is also showing strength in Europe, where shipments have stabilized, securing a 69% market share on the continent, followed by a virtual tie between South Africa (12.5%) and Kenya (12%). Prices remain stable, with good returns. In China, Peruvian avocado shipments have decreased, and, unlike previous trends, prices are now varying according to size, decreasing for larger sizes and increasing for smaller ones. Harvesting has begun in Chile, but the dry matter is not sufficient for export, so those volumes are to satisfy its local consumers, which projects a slight decrease in Peru's supply.

Welcome to the Avobook W 26 Report, with all the data on the international avocado market.
